Copan Day 1

Today we landed in San Pedro Sula and loaded the bus to Copan. Gaby met us at the airport and we also saw Gustavo with another group. We saw beautiful trees with red blooms called Guacamaya. There were also lots of Hibiscus. We saw the sugar cane and the guys with machetes cutting it.
Along the road were many stands selling fruit, rope, tires and even squealing pigs.
One place they were roasting corn over an open fire. One main industry near Copan is Green valley which specializes in textiles.
Also there is the Lear Corporation which makes auto parts. Gaby said that Hondurans can’t buy the textiles as they are all exported.
The hotel in Copan is beautiful and there are neat cobblestone streets. Tomorrow we see the ruins and the chocolate factory.
